Thuso Mbedu Keeps Winning: ‘The New York Times’ lists her among the 10 best actors of the year

Thuso Mbedu’s star just keeps on rising . . . amd she has had an incredible journey in her career and now, the New York Times has named her one of the top ten best actors of 2022 for her leading role in The Woman King.
The South African born actress Thuso Mbedu stars as Nawi in The Woman King, who is a young orphaned new recruit of the Agojie, an impressive all-female warrior unit that defended ad protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s. With this role, she has impressed even her critics, and landed a lot of praise for her work and dedication.
Wesley Morris, film critic for the New York Times had this to say about her work in this movie:
“It must have been some of the hardest acting this great actor has had to do, because Mbedu is awesome. The part needs stamina: There’s lots of running, jumping, ducking, impaling.

Mbedu has been on a winning streak since her move to the US, and she has been raising the South African flag very high, right to the very top.
