The Winners of the 2022 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards

Drumroll . . . the results are in for the winners of the 2022 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards!

On Sunday the 20th November at the Grand Arena in Cape Town (GrandWest), the industry celebrated top restaurants in South Africa. Guests enjoyed amazing food, drinks and great entertainment – Acoustic Element, Lloyiso and Mi Casa serenaded the guests.

With the Covid 19 pandemic and the public having to stay home, the restaurant industry got hit pretty bad, like the travel industry. To have the awards in 2022 is great, it’s a new chapter after that challenging period, and it’s definitely worth celebrating.

The Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards 2022 also did things differently. Instead of focusing on the top 20 restaurants across South Africa, a new star rating system was introduced, which meant more restaurants would be honored.

Restaurants were given 1, 2 and 3-stars, and addition to this there were 12 Special Awards which were given out to individual restaurants, chefs and food personalities who were being recognised for their contribution in the industry.
