The Huawei Mate 50 Pro is Now Available in South Africa

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro has landed in South Africa, which is the latest flagship smartphone from the Chinese tech giant. And just as we expected, it is packed with a range of high-end features and specifications that easily makes it good competition for the premium smartphone market. And as usual, South Africa is a little behind compared to certain parts of the world, as the phone has been officially launched back in September 2022.
One of the most striking features of the Mate 50 Pro is its camera system. The camera is huge, and impressive. The Mate 50 Pro comes with a triple-lens rear camera, which includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and 64MP 3.5x telephoto sensor. If you shoot content with your phone, like most content creators, this might be the phone for you, based on the camera capabilities.
The camera also supports 4K video recording, as well as Huawei’s advanced photography features, such as AI-powered autofocus and image stabilization. These features allow for stunning photos and videos with great detail and clarity, even in low-light situations. So, there’s really no stopping you becoming a content creator, or even starting a Youtube channel in 2023.
Huawei Mate 50 Pro Pricing in South Africa
Pre-orders for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro are live, and you can order yours today, as orders went live on the 26th of January 2023. The phone will be available from 1 February 2023.
In South Africa, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro comes with 256GB internal storage, and you can get it in black or silver. This phone will set you back a whopping R24,999, which is not too bad if you think about how much the Apple iphone 14 costs, and not forgetting the Samsung S22 Ultra.
If you are looking for a phone that has more storage than the 256GB, the you will need to get the 512GB phone which comes in orange. This one will cost you R26,999.
If you want this phone, you can reserve your phone with a payment of R1000, which will qualify you a discount of R2,499 on the 256GB model or R2,699 on the 512GB version. I think this is a pretty sweet deal, I mean who doesn’t want to save money?
Huawei has made the deal even more sweet . . . with every pre-order, you will also get a Huawei Watch GT Runner smartwatch, a massive value at R7,499.
If that doesn’t at least get you thinking about getting a Huawei, I don’t know what will.

The Best Features About the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro
The Huawei Mate 50 Pro has some features that are quite impressive, these include:
#1. The Camera System
The HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro is absolutely perfect for mobile photographers. It is armed with a 50MP main camera which has great features, including laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, and a 10-size adjustable physical F1.4 aperture.
The Huawei Mate 50 Pro also comes with HUAWEI’s XD Fusion Pro image engine. This allows the camera to adjust your images and how light or bright they can be. This means that you can take impressive shots even in low lighting.
Even more impressive, is the fact that the Mate 50 Pro got first place on DXOMark, which is insane and speaks on how amazing the camera on this phone is.
#2. Screen Quality
The HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro comes in a large 6.74-inch screen that uses an OLED, up to 120 Hz refresh rate, with a resolution of 1212 x 2616.
This means that you can enjoy crisp clear visuals while using this phone.
#3. Battery Performance
The Low-Battery Emergency Mode on the Mate 50 Pro is a great feature. When your battery level falls to 1%, this feature enables the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro to extend standby time by two to three hours or 12 minutes of call time. this can come in super handy, should you have an emergency with a low battery.
This phone comes with a lot of great features, these are just the three that stand out the most to us.
The only draw back for me when it comes to the Huawei Mate 50 pro and many of the Huawei handsets is the fact that there aren’t Google apps.
Huawei is doing a great job at building up their own app store, but it still a problem for me, and I am assuming for others as well.
