Mzansi Shakers Interview with Kelly Rowland for Brutal Fruit #YouBelong

We, as Mzansi Shakers have had the honour to be part of the Brutal Fruit “You Belong” campaign and it has been nothing short of amazing.

We love this because Brutal Fruit has started a movement amongst women, inspiring them to be more confident in going after their dreams and taking up space in their respective fields.

We are all learning that is a lifestyle, it is more than just a drink or a fragrance. This has become the spritzer of choice amongst the stylish socialites and it tastes great too.

Ms Kelly Rowland, who advocated for the campaign herself graced us with her presence in South Africa and we had the privilege of interviewing her. What a phenomenal force she is. Kelly Rowland has cemented her space in the entertainment industry through the years. We are talking singer, songwriter, actress and so much more.

During the interview Kelly Rowland expressed how she was inspired by the iconic Whitney Houston who she shared “Was a woman who looked like her” as she grew up watching her live her dream as a super star, which made young Kelly Rowland believe she too can make it as a star…and she did because she “Belongs”.

Kelly Rowland is a woman of style and poise and just being in her presence and experiencing her energy makes one feel they matter and are included. In the interview she shares how she dealt with her low self-esteem by identifying little things about her that make her beautiful and uniquely her and focusing on those positive things to make her feel good. She revealed that she writes positive affirmations on her mirror daily so she can be constantly reminded to keep going every time she looks at herself in the mirror. Kelly Rowland believes in shining ones light on others to inspire them to shine and find their full potential. The stylish celebrity also shared how she is more drawn to a timeless/classic style and mentioned her 3 basic items she simply can’t go without in her closet “a good pair of heels, nice fitting pair of jeans and a good wig” as she gracefully chuckled.
