Lynn Forbes on the pain of losing her son AKA: “My Heart is Shattered”

Lynn Forbes has shared her pain of losing her son Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, who was buried last week Saturday in a private ceremony.
AKA was shot dead on February 10, 2023, outside Wish restaurant on Florida road in Durban, along with his longtime friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
Today, the day when his latest album Mass Country is getting released, Lynn posted a picture of the day she buried her son, and shared how the days have been for her since his passing.
She shared how the past two weeks “have been surreal, more especially the mornings.”
Each day since AKA’s death has been nothing short of a nightmare for Lynn.
“Waking up every morning, being reminded that this nightmare will never end, is the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. My heart is shattered into millions of pieces. I love you Kiernan.”
The past two weeks she has seemed so strong, and the loss of AKA, has shattered not just his family and loved ones, but so many people in South Africa and beyond.
AKA celebrated his 35th birthday just a few weeks ago, and his mom posted a heartwarming post about him.
“I’ve been reflecting on motherhood and how it changed my life and this quote sums it up best … The day you become a mother is the day you start watching your heart walk around outside of your body. Here’s to 35 years of motherhood and counting … Celebrating every precious moment of your life Kiernan,” she wrote.
AKA’s new album Mass Country was released this morning, to the delight of his fans. And just a day ago, the megacy had a chance to hear the album first, before anyone else.
AKA’s fans are going crazy, and they are loving the collaborations that he has on the album, and the bars that he’s dropping.
The song he did with his girlfriend Nadia Nakai called Dangerous featuring Blaxkie, is a beautiful song, feels like a love letter to each other.
“I can’t believe this is happening without you. I’m so proud of you baby. You did it. MASS COUNTRY OUT NOW!#MassCountry,” Nadia wrote on Twitter.
