Lebogang Mokubela will be launching his Lemok smart feature phone soon

Lebogang Mokubela is doing what many people can only dream about, he will be launching his Lemok smart feature phone in South Africa soon. With the rising costs of smartphones, he will be bringing into the market a phone that will give people access to smartphone capabilities, at a fraction of the cost!

Meet the Founder and CEO of Lemok Electronics: Lebogang Mokubela

Lebogang Mokubela is a Soshanguve based entrepreneur, who started Lemok Electronics back in 2019. But with the covid 19 pandemic and the havoc it caused for businesses, Lemok Electronics had to stop production, and now they are back with a bang.

According to the Lemok Electronics website, “Lebogang has always had a passion for technology and innovation. Growing up in South Africa, he witnessed firsthand the transformative power of technology, particularly for people living in under-resourced communities. In 2012, after the failure of his first business when he was 19 years of age, Lebogang joined Perx Agency (a brand activation agency) as Junior Creative. 2 years later Lebogang was promoted to Director of Strategy which gave him exposure in strategic avenues of brands such as 8.ta (now Telkom Mobile) as well as Lenovo South Africa.”

The team at Lemok Electronics under the leadership of Lebogang Mokubela have developed the Lehumo smart feature phone, “a game-changing device that will make internet access more affordable and accessible to millions of Africans.”

“By providing affordable and accessible devices, we hope to empower African communities to participate fully in the digital economy,” says Lebogang.

According to Youth Village “the phone allows access to the internet, use apps, and connect with others via social media, while still maintaining the simplicity and affordability of the feature phone. The Lehumo phone is both durable and designed to withstand the challenges of African life.”

Twitter was truly impressed with this man’s work, and many were sending him congratulatory messages. Starting any business is challenging, and for one to get into the business of electronics is even more challenging.

And for him to be an African brother, makes it that much more exciting and very inspirational.

Features of the Lehumo smart feature Phone:

The Lemok smart feature phone comes with 4G & WiFi Connectivity, a Dual-sim, storage capability of up to 32GB memory card, camera and 512MB RAM & 4GB ROM.

And with the phone, people will be able to access Facebook, Youtube, and Whatsapp.

According to Lemok Electronics, the phone is currently in the testing stages, and once that’s sorted, the phone should be available in the market.

We can’t wait!
