Kota Joe Roadhouse : Delicious Kotas, burgers & hotdogs

Kota Joe Roadhouse is a great spot to grab a bite, and their food is actually quite delicious.

At the Kota Joe branch in Boksburg, the waiters come out to your car to bring you the menu. Once you are ready to order, they take your order and bring you the food on a tray once it’s ready, without you ever having to step out of your car, which we loved.

Now, like me, some of you may think Kota, like your kasi kota or traditional kota as we know it. And it’s not that type of setup, but they are just as delicious.

Traditionally, a kota is a quarter loaf of bread, the soft part of the bread (the inside part) is removed then filled with chips, atchaar, a slice of cheese, a slice of polony, a vienna/russian, egg, sauce – you get the picture. The fillings differ, and it’s what will influence the price of the kota.

Kota Joe Roadhouse kota’s are like this picture above, and you can choose different combinations, that will leave your cravings served and satisfied.

What we also loved about Kota Joe, is that while you can choose to listen to your music in the car, you also can watch whatever they are playing on the big screen.

The vibe is great, and their service is efficient, as we didn’t have to wait long for the food and our drinks.

Kota Joe Roadhouse Menu

The menu is extensive, and has a lot of things for you to try out. Their food is mostly street food.

The fillings for their kotas include bacon, chicken, rump, beef, chicken livers, mince, calamari, pork rib and more. As a roadhouse, they also have classics like burgers, pizza, wraps, ribs and hotdogs.

With your meal, you can order a milk shake or a soda, they even have hot beverages on offer. Their milkshakes though are to die for, they have your classics like vanilla and strawberry, and they also serve the more excititng flavours including Nutty Nutella, Chockits, Fererro Rocher, Top Deck, Cookies & Cream, Black Forest and more.

They also haven’t forgotten about their little fans, they have a kiddies menu that includes crumbed chicken, mince & cheese, chicken strips, prego and more.

And the kiddies also get their milkshakes too, like zoo biscuit, cookies and cream, butter caramel to name just a few.

In addition to the shakes, there’s also ice cream and waffles. Their waffle flavours include Ferrero Rocher & Nutella, which is one of the latest flavours, Bar One & Caramel, Top deck, Nutella and more.

Truth be told, Kota Joe Roadhouse have something to suit everyone, whatever your preference is.
