Kairo Forbes’ touching tribute to her daddy AKA “I love you daddy!”
“I love you daddy!” . . . this is what Kairo Owethu Forbes had to say to her father Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, who was taken from her in a very traumatic and gruesome manner.
Kairo Forbes, who is just 7 years old, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming video that captures moments of her and her dad, having fun and spending time together.
One thing about AKA, that we all saw, was the way in which he was present in her life, how he loved and cherished her. The video starts with Kairo as a tiny baby, there’s even a clip of him feeding her and doing her hair, which just pulls at our heartstrings.
AKA was shot in Durban on the 10th of February, outside of Wish restaurant. At his memorial service, we were all super touched when Kairo went on to comfort Nadia Nakai as she couldn’t hold back her tears. We also saw when Kairo couldn’t hold her tears at certain parts of AKA’s memorial service, and reduced her mom DJ Zinhle to tears as well.
At some point in the video, someone (sounds like her mom) asks her if AKA was a good dad, to which she responded “Yes. He was a good dad, and I love him.”
Kairo’s video obviously struck a chord with so many people that loved AKA, and that are touched by a child who now has to grow up without her loving father. It’s a loss that she is forced to live with, and her followers started leaving messages of comfort and prayers on her comment section.
Kairo is not the only one that has shared a heartwarming tribute on AKA. His mother Lynn Forbes shared one, his girlfriend Nadia Nakai shared one as well as her mom Dj Zinhle . . . among the many tributes that have been put out for the iconic rapper.
