DJ Zinhle Pens A Heartfelt Tribute To AKA
DJ Zinhle has penned a heartbreaking letter to AKA, regarding their daughter Kairo Forbes.
Just hours after the rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was laid to his final resting place, the mother of his child Dj Zinhle penned a heartbreaking letter to him, expressing how broken she is that his time on earth was cut short, that he didn’t have more time to spend with their child Kairo.
She took to Instagram to share her tribute to the rapper.
“Kiernan, I am so sorry that you have been robbed of your time with your daughter, with @nadianakai, Steffan, your mom @lynnforbesza , dad and all of us. I would give anything for Kairo to have more time with you, Kiernan. Her asking questions breaks me. What do I do when she misses and needs you?”
“We quickly learnt that our differences would not be a burden for our daughter, our past mistakes could not deprive our daughter of a happy childhood with love from both mom and dad. I am so glad we figured it out, it’s as if we knew you would not be around long enough. Thank you for loving her the way you did.”
Zinhle said she would go on with his belief that “God is in control” and that she would comfort and be there for Nadia, so doesn’t have to walk this heartbreaking journey alone.
“Good night Kiernan. You told me God is in control, I will hold on to these words as we piece together the pieces of our shattered hearts. We will comfort and love Nadia, she is family now. God bless you.”

Bongani Mohosana, DJ Zinhle’s Husband pays tribute to AKA
Kairo Forbes’ stepfather and DJ Zinhle’s husband, Bongani “Mörda” Mahosana, has paid tribute to slain rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
Bongani couldn’t attend AKA’s memorial and funeral due to cultural protocol that he had to follow. he shares how he kept mum after the rapper passed, because he just didn’t have the words.
“Dear Kiernan, I took a little longer to write this, but to be honest I didn’t know what to say,” he started.
Morda who shares a daughter with DJ Zinhle, shared how Kiernan contributed to the music industry, and the great father that he was to Kairo.
“As a man, I learnt something very important from you, know your worth. No matter what happens in your life always know your worth. As a father, you were amazing. You did it all for Kairo and that shows in the love she has inside her. Your legacy will live on. May you rest well with the many legends we look up to. Till we meet again, Dad Motion.”
AKA was shot dead on Florida Road, Durban, on February 10. He was laid to rest on Saturday the 18th February 2023.
