BMW XM Label Red – A High-Performance SUV with a Bold Look

The most powerful M-badged vehicle ever created by the Munich-based automaker, the new BMW XM Label Red, has been unveiled.

This enormous plug-in hybrid SUV, which is based on the standard XM, has an enhanced powertrain that generates 550kW and a massive 1,000Nm of torque. A 4.4l twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a permanently excited synchronous motor built into the eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox are responsible for these outstanding results. BMW claims that the XM Label Red would accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds and achieve a high speed of 250 kilometers per hour (290 kilometers per hour with the optional M Driver’s Package).

The BMW XM Label Red features a cornering-capable chassis that is drenched in all kinds of assistance, including adaptive M suspension with electronically adjustable dampers and active roll stabilization. This is in keeping with its amazing straight-line performance. In order to increase agility, there is also an ingenious electronically controlled locking rear differential. A powerful M Sport braking system, consisting of single-piston, floating-caliper units at the back and six-piston, fixed-caliper brakes up front, is installed behind the 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels as standard equipment.

Drivers may employ this M car’s electric driving mode, which gives a maximum range of 83km owing to a high-voltage 25.7kWh battery pack, when not terrorizing supercars or wrecking drag strips. The latter may be recharged from empty to full in 4.25 hours when connected to a combination charging equipment that allows AC charging at up to 7.4kW.

This M-badged range-topper, which should not be mistaken with a popular whiskey mix, has red accents around its front kidney grille and side windows as standard. Nevertheless, clients who want to fly a little more covertly can choose a more subdued hue of black in place of red. There are one solid and a variety of solid and metallic exterior paint colors available.

When you go inside the interior, you’ll see black surfaces on the seats, instrument panel, door trim, and center console that have red contrast stitching and accents around the air vents. The upper portion of the front M multifunction seat backs are similarly decorated with the color. Other standard interior features include a head-up display, parking assistant plus, a BMW Live Cockpit Professional with the most recent iDrive system, a three-dimensional prism headliner jewelled with at least 100 individual LED light units, a BMW Curved Display with M-specific content, and a head-up display. A Harman Kardon Surround sound system, four-zone automated temperature control, and ambient lighting are also included.

The new BMW XM Label Red will go into production at the automaker’s plant in August 2023. As for the pricing in South Africa, that is yet to be announced.
