Babes Wodumo Back in the Studio & Working on New Music

The Queen of Gqom Babes Wodumo is back in the studio and working on new music, to the delight of many South Africans.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Babes, from when her husband Mandla Mampintsha Maphumulo got hit by a stroke and passing on, on 24 December 2022, to losing her mother in law due to a stroke as well. And through this trying time, and processing her grief, South Africans have been rallying around her, showing their love and support, and encouraging her to get back into the studio.
Babes Wodumo to Reclaim Her Rightful Place at the Top
Babes Wodumo is a star, a national treasure. Who can forget her rise to fame when she released her hit Wololo back in 2016? Coupled with her dance moves, she was at the top of her game and had back to back gigs.
Following her terrible loss, South Africans wanted Babes to get back to the hustle and revive her career, and it seems she’s doing just that.
Music producer Nkazimulo “TNS” Ngema posted on Facebook to share that he was in the studio working with Babes Wodumo. Babes is working on her next album.
“In Studio w/ IDandokazi Babes Wodumo Recording Her 2023 Album,” he wrote and of course fans went crazy with excitement.
It definitely will be a good thing for Babes to get back in the studio and create the magic that we as South Africans know her for.
At Mampintsha’s memorial service at Thekwini Community Church in Durban, DJ Tira even encouraged Babes to get back to work, and not relax.
“Babes must top the charts again. When she started performing, she charged R100,000. If you want to rise again, Babes, you must be uncomfortable. Work hard and focus. Since Mampintsha died, we must raise Sponge. “As his friends, we will do anything for him,” stated Tira.
Having DJ Tira’s backing and support is good for Babes, as he is a killer producer too. He can help Babes Wodumo get back to being at the top of the charts and making bank in a great way.
And as a mom who needs to make sure that her son Sponge Wodumo, South Africa is waiting for that new music and we will support.
